HR Consultancy required an experienced Production Manager, initially on an interim basis until the end of the year. 

 

Our client is a Glasgow based technology company who manufacture a wide range of monitoring equipment for a variety of clients worldwide. 

 

They are currently seeking a Production Manager on a temporary basis, however for the right candidate a permanent opportunity exists.

 

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Direct the company’s manufacturing, production, and operating activities toward the accomplishment of company objectives
  • Defines and recommends manufacturing objectives, develops specific short and long-term plans and programs together with supporting budget requests
  • Directs the manufacture of all company products at lowest cost consistent with established specifications as to quality and quantity
  • Good understanding of measures and KPI’s with strong recovery mentality an any KPI misses
  • Ability to inspire / develop and multi skill team to meet business needs
  • Ability to drive and develop cellular manufacturing processes
  • Ensures prompt and economical receipt of needed material and supplies and delivery of finished products to customers
  • Directs the preparation of specifications for purchase as to quality, quantity, delivery and service required for purchase of plant equipment, supplies, and materials to meet production schedules and quality standards
  • Sets up and maintains inventory controls and levels to conform with budgets and forecasts
  • Formulates and instills standard manufacturing practices based on comparative studies of methods, costs and production figures
  • Drives continuous improvement through lean tools and techniques including standard operating procedures, 5S, visual management
  • Performs duties in accordance with established quality standards

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Self-starter
  • Proactive with ability to run the operation with direction but with relatively little supervision
  • Strong work ethic
  • High degree of integrity with ability to lead and to command the respect of peers and employees
  • World class mentality with solid experience in problem solving
  • HNC/ HND – Operations Discipline including Lean Sigma
  • MBA advantageous

 

The salary for this role is up to £40,000 per annum, depending on relevant experience.
