£35,000 - £40,000

A new role reporting to the HR Manager will focus on the development of the Learning & Development strategy within the business. You will manage the development of performance management and appraisal processes, design a competency framework, lead talent and succession planning strategies, review all training including leadership programmes and drive employee engagement initiatives. 

This is a key, hands on role focusing on the organisations agenda to develop its key talent to create a high performing, professional culture.

  • Develop and implement training programmes
  • Produce training plans, materials and procedures
  • Manage the training budget
  • Organise the training cycle which is in line with production scheduling
  • Assess training needs for staff
  • Co-ordinate all training activity across the organisation.


You will either be an experienced Learning & Development Manager who has experience in the design and delivery of learning strategy and the application of the same but also someone who is at home getting their sleeves rolled up to get involved with the design and delivery of the training within the organisation. You will;

  • Focus on the company’s strategic priority to develop its organisational capability to create a high performing culture which realises growth ambitions
  • Support the overall business strategy and help the business grow through it employees and Learning & Development initiatives
  • Ensure that all employees are equipped with the requisite knowledge and skills to fulfil their roles successfully and safely. 
  • Develop and enhance the business’s talent and evolve future leaders.
  • Be responsible for the ongoing development of a programme of effective and efficient learning solutions and overseeing the delivery of these with continual evaluation of their quality and impact.
  • Make use of and develop effective blended learning solutions when designing and delivering learning interventions
  • Design and deliver a range of general learning interventions to meet business priorities and specific campaigns
  • Conduct learning needs analysis in partnership with the business to define capability gaps and prepare people for future business priorities
  • Advise line managers of the range of L&D support available and work with them to provide appropriate solutions
  • Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of the learning activity and quantify the benefit and impact
  • Promote the L&D function internally and act as a role model for development and learning
  • Ensure managers and leaders have access to additional resources to support learning outside of the classroom
  • Facilitate action learning sets and promote the value of experiential learning
  • Put in place and monitor project plans to ensure successful delivery of projects
