Financial Crime Vice President - Glasgow

The EMEA Financial Crimes Group is based in London with approximately 30 employees focused on the AML, sanctions and anti-corruption obligations associated with the Firm’s business in the region. It is led by the International Head of Financial Crimes who reports to the EMEA Regional Head of Compliance and the Global Head of Financial Crimes. A new sub-team is being recruited in Glasgow; this will include sub-teams covering Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and Advisory, Financial Crimes Testing and Financial Crimes Investigations.


Primary Responsibilities


Manage the EDD/Advisory sub-team including rigorous oversight over the work of junior team members and ensuring that their work is accurate and is performed in a timely fashion

Assess the Financial Crime risk associated with potential and existing clients of the Firm via the enhanced due diligence process.

Staying abreast of Financial Crime related regulatory updates, enforcement actions and typologies. Challenge existing processes, looking for enhancements and efficiencies where possible

Using your knowledge and experience in Financial Crime Compliance to act as an escalation point and mentor for junior members of the team

Managing day-to-day prioritisation.


Experience Required

Degree educated or equivalent.

Recent experience of Anti-Money Laundering Compliance or KYC Operations Knowledge

Strong knowledge of Money Laundering Regulations in the UK; knowledge of requirements in other jurisdictions in which the Firm operates is also desirable.

Experience in Know Your Customer requirements including customer identification program, customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence.

Understanding of financial markets and products (in particular, Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities and Investment Banking/Capital Markets).
