Meet The Recruiter: Chris Milne
6 October 2017
How did you get in to recruitment?
I got a call out the blue when I was living in Sydney and decided to give it a try.
What was your dream job as a child?
This is so hard I honestly don’t know … My dream job would change depending on the film I was watching.
How do you commute?
I drive to the station and take a train every morning.
What does a typical day look like?
9am – 10am: CV reviewing, set up to do list for the day, check social media pages and share content
10 – 12: Business development calls
12 – 1: Lunch
1 – 4: Candidate interviews, admin for new placements, checking in with registered candidates, send CV’s to clients, speak to existing clients to strengthen our relationship and give updates on open roles and my progress with candidates, sourcing candidates, book candidates in for registrations.
4 – 5.30pm: Confirm interviews and do interview prep with candidates, making sure candidates booked to start are happy and ready for their new role, writing jobs adverts and then posting them online.
What’s the best part of your job?
Meeting with a candidate, finding them the perfect job and their reaction when you tell them they have been offered the job!
What’s been your biggest success so far?
Passing my 3-month probation.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Spend time with my girlfriend Connie, socialising with friends and family or going for nice meals. I also love travelling – anywhere from weekend breaks and backpacking.
What is most important to you?
Spending time with friends and family, planning trips to visit friends that don’t live in Glasgow and catch up - whether it be in England or further away. Being happy is mega important, life is too short to be miserable.
Describe yourself in three words.
Happy, Fun, Random …
