An Amazing Day At The Prince's Trust Financial Lunch

An Amazing Day At The Prince's Trust Financial Lunch

HR Consultancy were delighted to sponsor The Prince’s Trust Financial Lunch on Friday, and were pleased to take up a table with our recruiters and clients. The lunch is now in its eighth year, and it’s always a very thought-provoking and inspiring day.

As I said in my blog last week, I was thrilled to have been asked to deliver a speech during the day. Whilst this initially seemed like a daunting task, I was very quickly put at ease by an attentive and receptive audience of Young Ambassadors and business professionals.

Moira Patience Warren – TV presenter and owner of Patience Jewellery – hosted the day with real charm and ease. Guest speakers Iain Martin (an author and columnist for The Times) and Merryn Somerset Webb (editor-in-chief of Moneyweek) also provided some food for thought with their excellent speeches.

But, for me, the most interesting and rewarding aspect of the day is hearing from the young people themselves.

The next generation of our workforce who, thanks to the incredible work The Prince’s Trust undertakes, have found themselves able to start up their own business or take home a wage.

This is why we at HR Consultancy are only too keen to help The Trust in whatever way we can – be it through CV and interview workshops or becoming event sponsors.

We love to hear stories of personal and professional growth, especially from young people who have otherwise become disillusioned with the world of work.

In particular, I was absolutely humbled to meet an incredible young man, Damon Hutson. As a Young Ambassador, he is a fine example of the great work being done by The Prince's Trust right here in Scotland.

I would like to offer up huge congratulations to him, and a thank you to the 350+ professionals who attended Friday’s great event, supporting such a worthwhile cause.
